National Drowsy Driving Awareness Week

As part of the #Awake2Drive campaign, the National Sleep Foundation has offered the following tips for preventing drowsy driving:

  1. Get 7-9 hours of sleep every night
  2. Do not drive if you have been awake for more than 24 hours
  3. If you are feeling tired and you still have long travels ahead of you, consider drinking something with caffeine
  4. Plan regular stops for short naps when preparing for a long road trip
  5. Make a point to stop every 100 miles or 2 hours when on the road
  6. Travel during times you would normally be awake
