Job Description:

Hours: Full-time, Days.

Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in related healthcare field, preferably clinical in nature, with at least three years of healthcare experience.

Job Requirements: Minimum of three (3) years of healthcare experience.

Preferred Skills: Certification in Infection Prevention and/or Registered Nurse license preferred.

Responsibilities:  Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing Mahaska Health Partnership’s Infection Control Program in accordance with current standards and regulations. Directly responsible for policies, procedures and practices in the area of infection control. Serves as a resource to all departments and personnel; prepares and presents educational offerings for staff as applicable. Consults with patients, patients’ families and personnel regarding infection prevention and control issues and practices.  

Coordinates with the Clinical Quality Director to plan, organize and lead the organization in quality improvement. Applies, teaches and skillfully uses techniques for quality improvement, outcomes measurement and statistical analysis. Assists with documentation and reporting, internally and externally, of improvement activities as appropriate. Provides leadership for implementing change; has the ability to analyze and present data findings/ reports to hospital and medical staff committees as needed.

Demonstrates problem solving, leadership, conflict management and team building skills in order to ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals. Ability to use independent judgment. Performs under minimal supervision with accountability for specific goals/objectives. Actively attends in-services and educational programs.
