Position: Exempt, full-time supervisory position.

Reports to:  Administration.

Requirements: 5 years Managerial Experience: 3-5 years healthcare experience. Basic computer skills.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Excellent organizational, project management and presentation skills. Outstanding customer service skills and vendor management experience.

Preferences include: 4 year degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Science, Electrical Engineering, or related. 5 – 10 years of work experience or a combination of education and work experience.  Working knowledge of Joint Commission standards and accreditation process. Knowledge and experience in emergency preparedness preferred.  Certification recommendation: CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or CHFM (Certified Health Care Facility Management) certification and P.E. (Professional Engineer) licensure.  Advanced knowledge of NFPA, TJC, OSHA and EPA.

Responsibilities: Directs and participates in the development and implementation of effective programs and process to manage the occupancy and use, repair and renovation of the Hospital’s buildings and grounds, utility services and biomedical systems. Ensures a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Directs, reviews and supports facilities staff.  Prepares and manages departmental operational and capital budgets.  Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations including The Joint Commission.  Partners with departmental and senior leadership to establish long and short term facility needs aligned with organizational goals.  Serves as organizational safety officer and facilitates organizational safety committee.
