Dr. Akhtar Ashraf is the Staff Attending Radiologist at Radiology Associates of Ottumwa, P.C. Before joining Mahaska Health Partnership in 1990, he was an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at Des Moines University, Des Moines, Iowa.
Podiatrist Mark Beers, DPM, practices full time in the MHP Medical Group. He has been caring for feet in the Oskaloosa area for more than 25 years (said 20 in 2011, okay to say?). Dr. Beers partners closely with the Certified Diabetes Education and Wound Ostomy Care professionals, providing an all-encompassing approach to foot health. In his spare time, Dr. Beers enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hunting and trap shooting.
Bryon Bellinger, ARNP-C, is a Hospitalist at Mahaska Health Partnership. He enjoys providing care to patients over a longer period of time and participating in their final diagnosis during their stay in Inpatient. Bryon believes hospital medicine benefits patients because providers are able to solely focus on people admitted to the hospital, spending more time with them and applying holistic principles to their care.
Ron Berges, DO, is a Psychiatrist who has been practicing for 26 years. He specializes in anxiety and mood disorders, but works with all areas of mental health. In his free time, he enjoys drag racing and hunting.
Dr. Boyum is a Psychiatrist treating patients in MHP’s Behavioral Health Services. He sees patients of all ages, but has a special interest in children and adolescents. Dr. Boyum appreciates when he can help a patient work through transitions in their life.
General Surgeon Tim Breon, MD, FACS, is an experienced, Board Certified Surgeon specializing in traditional, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical treatments. Dr. Breon commonly performs operations on the colon as well as the gallbladder, female anatomy and appendix. Dr. Breon grew up on a farm near Hedrick, Iowa. He chose to practice at MHP to ensure advanced surgical care, focused on the whole body, is available to all patients in need of routine or emergent intervention.
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Heather Cadwell is a licensed professional nurse. She cares for patients' anesthesia needs before, during and after surgery or the delivery of a baby. Heather enjoys being able to bring peace and calm to a patient who is in pain or anxious about undergoing surgery.
Family Practice Physician Case Everett, MD, practices full-time at the MHP Medical Group, providing primary care to all ages and also delivering babies. Dr. Everett is originally from New Sharon and is passionate about serving his home community. Dr. Everett chose Family Practice with obstetrics because he knew there was a need for obstetrical providers in rural Iowa and wanted to provide an all-encompassing medical practice to his patients.
