What happens after my visit?

If medical follow-up is needed, you will be referred to your primary care provider. A follow up appointment can be scheduled with our checkout staff at the conclusion of your Walk-In visit.

When will I receive my lab testing or X-ray results?

If you did not receive your lab results during your Walk-In visit, you can expect a call from a Walk-In provider or nurse to discuss your results within 24-48 business hours. Please note, some specialized tests may take longer than five days to complete.

Additionally, if you are a myMHP patient portal user, your results will be available on your portal within four business days of completion. To sign up for myMHP, please visit mahaskahealth.org or contact our portal counselor by calling 641.672.3200. You may also reach the portal counselor by emailing myMHP@mahaskahealth.org.

Any radiology tests performed at a Walk-In visit will be reviewed by a highly trained radiologist for a final result and available within 48 business hours. Your care team will contact you with the results.

Can my spouse call to get my results?

Due to the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) we cannot disclose patient information to anyone, regardless of relationship, other than the patient, without their consent. You may fill out a release of information form that will allow the MHP Medical Group to speak to the person you designate. Please see our Patient Privacy Notice for more information. There is also an option to create a “Family Account” on our patient portal.
