Preparing for your Sleep Study

The day of your sleep study:

  • Avoid caffeine
  • Avoid napping
  • Shower as normal but refrain from using gel or conditioners
  • Take your normal daily medications UNLESS otherwise instructed
  • Go about your normal daily routine

Bring to your sleep study:

  • Completed forms for study, sent to you by MHP
  • Photo ID
  • Insurance card(s)
  • List of current medications
  • Prescription medications you take before bedtime
  • Pajamas or sleep clothes including a top and bottom
  • Toiletries you may want to bring include toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shampoo
  • Favorite pillow, if desired
  • Sleep aide your physician may have prescribed for you to take for your sleep study

Arriving for your sleep study:

The night of your sleep study, arrive at the MHP Emergency Services Entrance at your designated time. The MHP Emergency Services Entrance is located on the east side of the building, entrance #5. Check-in at the Admitting window and the Sleep Technologist will be called to come and escort you to your sleep room.
