Ryan Young, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with a passion for improving healthcare in rural areas. Ryan Young graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at the University of South Dakota. With over 25 years of experience as a PA in Cardiology, Ryan Young is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to patients in Oskaloosa and the southeast Iowa region. Transitioning to Mahaska Health from Iowa Heart Center in Des Moines, IA, Ryan Young is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. During the decade before joining Mahaska Health, he specialized in heart rhythm and device management including pacemakers and internal cardiac defibrillators. Prior to that, his focus was on the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) including the development of a Heart Failure Clinic for patients with advanced CHF. Ryan’s background in cardiac support is a great addition to the Mahaska Health Center of Excellence in Cardiology.
Ryan provides compassionate care by listening to each patient and understanding their unique circumstances and needs. His hobbies include spending time with family, travel, golf, and hunting.
